Undergraduate Student Services can process overrides and/or assist with registration. There are many different reasons for overrides during the registration period. PLEASE NOTE: This information applies to COHPA courses only.

  • Students cannot drop off override forms
  • Students must bring the approved override form to USS within two days of signature
  • Overrides and registration assistance are available on a walk-in basis

Override Examples

  • If the prerequisite hasn’t been completed- see the department that teaches the course
  • If the prerequisite was completed but not reflected as such in the myKnight audit- see the department that teaches the course
  • If the prerequisite was completed and reflects such in the myKnight audit- see USS, as long as the course is still open

If the course is closed/full- see the department that teaches the course

Attempting to take more than the maximum number of credits allowed (14-summer; 17-fall/spring)- see the department of student’s major

Seeking to enroll in a course that conflicts with another course already enrolled- see the department that offers the course & both instructors

Inclined to take a graduate level course- see the department of student’s major
