Current M.S. URP Director, Dr. Christopher Hawkins accepting an award for his leadership in the accreditation process

The School of Public Administration celebrates the accreditation of the Master of Urban and Regional Planning (M.S.URP) program by the Planning Accreditation Board. This accreditation is awarded to professional programs that are found to exemplify excellence in performance, quality and integrity. “The UCF M.S. URP program will now become part of a broader group of PAB accredited programs, allowing us to attract an even broader group of talented students from the US and abroad,” said Associate Professor Luis Santiago, the incoming director of the M.S. URP program. Accreditation provides students and their current or potential employers with confidence that their education has met the widely accepted standards of the industry, as well as provides students with more opportunities to access federal and state financial assistance.

The M.S. URP program is designed to prepare current and prospective professionals to be leaders in urban and regional planning in the public, private and nonprofit sectors. In this program, students are exposed to community partners by participating in several Central Florida studies, including a public transportation study for the Parramore community, which neighbors the new UCF Downtown campus.
