Manuel Soto, the director of emergency management for the city of Orlando, was named an Orlando Utilities Commission Community Hero of the Game during a recent Orlando Magic game. Soto, who also serves on the school’s emergency management advisory board, was recognized for his service during Hurricane Irma and the shooting at Pulse nightclub in 2016.

The OUC Hero of the Game is an initiative between OUC and the Orlando Magic to honor public service professionals who have demonstrated outstanding service to the community.
