Welcome to the Department of Health Management and Informatics at the University of Central Florida. Our faculty and staff are focused on student development and are committed to our tagline: “Changing the health care delivery system, one student at a time.” This commitment stands for both the teaching and research missions that faculty practice.
The department houses five distinct programs, including three health service administration programs (Bachelor of Science, Master of Science, and the Executive Master of Science Program) and two informatics programs, including the Bachelor of Science in Health Informatics and Information Management and the Master of Science in Health Care Informatics. The department’s faculty also supports the Doctoral Program in Public Affairs and the state of Florida’s first Health Care Risk Management Licensure program.
The department’s faculty conducts research and provides instructional programs focused on problem solving and making better decisions in health care. The department strives to produce effective leaders in health care organizations that can analyze situations, identify relevant decisions, apply appropriate decision-making tools, and marshal relevant data and information in their decision-making.
I welcome you to contact each and every member of our faculty to leverage their expertise in order to help you make an impact in the field of health care administration. We look forward to your success as you help to improve and change the health care delivery system!
