Visiting Professor of Practice Joins CPNM
Jolanta Vaičiūnienė, the director of the Municipal Training Centre at Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania, has joined the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management as a visiting professor of practice.
In this role, she will participate in research and training activities with students and faculty associated with the CPNM. She will also provide consultations for students on municipal governance issues and will contribute to teaching through guest lectures on Skype.
“Jolanta is a highly-skilled, thoughtful, and rigorous professional with years of experience helping municipal government officials in Lithuania and elsewhere,” said Thomas Bryer, the director of the CPNM. “I am personally excited to welcome her to our team, and I know our students and professors will benefit through interactions with her.”
Vaičiūnienė serves as the director of the Municipal Training Centre at Kaunas University of Technology in Lithuania. She has been the Centre’s director for the past 10 years, and during that time, has led a variety of projects that have strengthened the capacity of municipal governments throughout Lithuania.
She has also established strong partnerships in the U.S., including one between KTU and UCF. Both universities have recently entered into a cooperation agreement that will open up possibilities for joint degree programs, research collaborations and exchanges of faculty and students. KTU is also Bryer’s host university during his Fulbright-funded research visits to Lithuania.
