Mission of the Center of Public and Nonprofit Management

The mission of the Center for Public and Nonprofit Management at the University of Central Florida is to strengthen communities through relevant research by faculty and students and through capacity building services to public and nonprofit organizations.

Center for Public and Nonprofit Management Strategic Plan

The CPNM’s current goals and objectives include the following:

Goal 1: Promote, conduct, synthesize and disseminate research to improve practice in the public and nonprofit sectors

  • Identify focus areas for research opportunities-need, funding, expertise
  • Develop strategic partnerships for collaboration
  • Create a marketing plan to build awareness of CPNM research (internal and external, scholarly and practitioners)
  • Provide coordinated service-learning and internships in the public and nonprofit sectors
  • Identify capacity needs of the sectors
  • Develop strategic partnerships for collaboration
  • Disseminate usable knowledge to increase capacity
  • Achieve sponsored research and external grants totaling at least $1million per calendar year, each year
  • Build an active advisory council
  • Increase individual, governmental and corporate donations
  • Engage more faculty (internal and external) in center research
  • Create strong relationships with students and alumni
