Proposal Incentives Award

The purpose of this award is to foster the development of collaborative funded research, promote research enterprise and national recognition, and assist faculty in developing professional expertise in Research collaborations. This document specifies the criteria for the award.
  1. The proposal budget must be $50,000 or more in direct costs and must contain full overhead.
  2. The principal investigator (PI) of the grant must be a COHPA tenured or tenure-earning faculty at the time the application is submitted.
  3. This is a one-time award given only for new (not revised or renewal) grant application submissions.
  4. Because the award intends to foster collaborative partnership, the priority of consideration is given to the proposal that involves more than one academic unit in the college or university.
  5. The proposal must be submitted to a federal agency. The principal investigator who has already received a federally funded award is not eligible for the research proposal incentive award.

Qualifying proposals are reported each semester by the Research Coordinators and are evaluated and awarded by the College Research Coordinators Committee. The total number of awards and the cash amount of each award may differ from year to year. The availability and the amount of awards depend on the amount of the available college fund.
