Announcements Archive

Congratulations to Kerry Gajewski, director of budget and research administration, and Nicole Phanstiel, coordinator of research administration, on becoming Certified Research Administrators (CRAs). The national Research Administrators Certification Council awarded them certification after they met specific education and experience criteria and successfully completed a certification exam. All staff members in the COHPA Office of Research are now CRAs.


Congratulations to the 2010-11 COHPA Research Fellows  on the completion of the yearlong fellowship!


2011-12 FACULTY RESEARCH FELLOWS APPLICATIONS

The COHPA Research Council is now accepting applications for this year's class of Research Faculty Fellows. Up to 10 applicants from across the college will be selected for the fellowship award. Applications are due to the council by Sept. 2, 2011. Acceptance decisions will be made by Sept. 9. for fellowships beginning the third Thursday of each month starting in September.

The application consists of the following:

  1. A one-page cover letter agreeing to the guidelines, activities and deliverables stated in the 2011-12 Research Faculty Fellows Program
  2. A curriculum vitae
  3. A letter of support from the department chair or school director

2011 UCF IN-HOUSE RESEARCH GRANT AWARDS

Four faculty members in the college received a UCF In-House Research Grant for 2011. The $7,500 grant is awarded on a competitive basis to support pilot research projects. Listed below are the recipients and their funded projects, which began on May 1, 2011.

    Research Project: "Deal or No Deal? Delivering Justice in Misdemeanor Courts"
  • Thomas Bryer, Assistant Professor of Public Administration
    Research Project: "Determinig the Costs of Democratization"
  • Anthony Kong, Assistant Professor of Communication Sciences and Disorders
    Research Project: "Quantifying Gesture Use in Aphasia: The Interaction between Gesture and Language"
  • Roberto Hugh Potter, Professor of Criminal Justice
    Research Project: "Re-entry from Jail to Community: A Comparative Study of Drivers, Constraints and Program Development in Three County Jail Systems"
