Wan to Serve on NIH Study Section
July 5, 2005 — Thomas Wan, director of the Doctoral Program in Public Affairs, has been selected to serve as a member of the Health Services Organization and Delivery Study Section for the National Institutes of Health (NIH) from July 2005 to June 2009. As a member of this study section, Wan will play an integral role in the NIH peer-review process by reviewing grant applications, making recommendations and surveying the status of research in the field. "These functions are of great value to medical and allied research in this country," wrote Brent Stanfield, acting director of the NIH's Center for Scientific Review.
Wan has also been invited to join the editorial board of the International Journal of Public Policy, which publishes refereed articles on public policy in four quarterly journals each year. As a member of the board, he will guide and direct the editorial policy of the journal, ensure that the journal achieves its objectives, referee papers and identify potential authors and guest editors. The journal's editorial office is located in Bucks, England.
