Commencement for Spring 2008 Graduates of the College of Health and Public Affairs
2:30 p.m., New UCF Arena
The procession of graduates will begin at 2:10 p.m. Graduates from the College of Engineering and Computer Science, College of Optics and Photonics, and Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences will participate in the commencement exercises as well.

2008 Florida Benchmarking Consortium's Conference of Local Governments

UCF faculty members and students are invited to attend this spring event, which will feature keynote speaker Ted Greenwood, program director at the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, and representatives from local government in the United Kingdom. The Florida Benchmarking Consortium, a performance measurement consortium of some 40 Florida government organizations, receives administrative and research support from the college's Center for Community Partnerhsips and Florida Institute of Government at UCF.

of the Year recipients. Barbara Conner (left), executive assistant to the dean, received the college's EOY award for the University Support Personnel System (USPS) employee category. Karen Guin (right), director of communications for the college, received the award for Administrative and Professional (A&P) employee category. The awards were announced at a collegewide Staff Appreciation Luncheon held on April 23.

the National Leadership Honor Society, on April 10, 2008. She is one of only 13 UCF students elected this year to become a member, reports Chapter Adviser David Gray Ross (right) of the Department of Criminal Justice and Legal Studies.


Carrie Woodell
, a public administration major and the purchasing manager for the city of Winter Park, Fla., received the 2008 Purchasing Manager of the Year Award from the Central Florida Chapter of the National Institute of Governmental Purchasing. She is also pursuing a minor in emergency management and homeland security.
