The Radiologic Sciences A.S. to B.S. Program

Radiologic Sciences Program Mission Statement

The mission of the radiologic sciences program is to deliver a comprehensive educational program for entry-level students and ARRT certified Radiologic Technologists.

The University of Central Florida offers the only AS to BS in Radiologic Sciences in Florida. Working radiographers who are graduates of an accredited A.S. program in radiologic technology in Florida can take advantage of the AS to BS articulated program. This advanced-standing program gives formal educational credit for knowledge and ability gained through previous training and experience. The AS to BS program enables qualified students to earn up to 27 credit hours of course work through "Credit by Examination." CBE credit is awarded to the RT-student by the radiologic sciences faculty during the last semester before graduation in recognition of successful completion of the RT credentialing process.

The AS to BS program is designed to accommodate the working professional, with full- and part-time options, Web courses and state university tuition rates. The B.S. opens doors to new opportunities in the profession by providing a foundation for leadership in management, education, research and clinical specialty areas, distinguishing program graduates as leaders in the profession. Personal and professional growth is dependent on the guidance of the faculty and the efforts of the individual.

For information on prerequisites, admission requirements and the official program of study, please refer to the UCF Undergraduate Catalog online.
