Mission Statement
The Department of Health Professions offers a range of academically rigorous, accredited programs for students interested in the health-care field. These programs prepare graduates for clinical positions in the health-care industry. The faculty strives to assist in the development of intelligent leaders in the respective professions who are responsive to the health-care needs of the state of Florida and the United States. All graduates are expected to have the capacity for acquisition of knowledge and skills to enable reflectivity, creativity, problem-solving and critical analysis in preparation for a productive professional life of practice, education, research, continuing education, service and leadership.
Faculty and students are actively engaged in Central Florida's health-care community in many ways:
- Students in the professional programs learn to be members of the health-care team through community based, clinical training in local and regional health care delivery organizations.
- Faculty work with local and regional health-care leaders to develop relevant clinical course work and experiences that address the needs of a diverse metropolitan region.
