Departments, School & Doctoral Program

The College of Health and Public Affairs houses five departments, two schools and an interdisciplinary doctoral program, each of which offers academic programs in the discipline and supports community-based research and service. These units also are engaged in international activites that span the globe. Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders
The faculty and staff of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders are dedicated to the preparation of speech-language pathologists and audiologists who achieve the highest standards of academic learning, clinical service and scientific inquiry.

Department of Criminal Justice
The Department of Criminal Justice provides excellence in teaching, research and service. Dedicated to its students, the faculty delivers outstanding instruction at the undergraduate and graduate levels, incorporating learning, service and inquiry.

Department of Health Professions
The Department of Health Professions offers academically rigorous, accredited programs for students interested in a career in health care. Our faculty strive to develop leaders who are responsive to the health care needs of the state of Florida and the United States.

Department of Health Management and Informatics
With innovative academic programs in health management, and a distinguished faculty that encourages service-learning and student research, the Department of Health Management and Informatics is well-positioned to address the challenges of a highly turbulent and competitive health care industry.

Department of Legal Studies
The Department of Legal Studies offers a Bachelor of Arts, a Bachelor of Science and a minor in the discipline. We also offer undergraduates a dynamic internship that places students in a wide variety of public- and private-sector law-related organizations.

School of Public Administration
The School of Public Administration supports academic and research programs in five areas of study: public administration, nonprofit management, emergency management and homeland security, urban and regional planning, and research administration.

School of Social Work
The faculty and staff of the School of Social Work bring together a wide diversity of experience and skills for the benefit of those who study and work in the field of social work. Strong partnerships with the community enhance the education of students and the employment opportunities of graduates.

Doctoral Program in Public Affairs
The Doctoral Program in Public Affairs prepares future leaders to deal with complex social, health and governance issues that cut across traditional disciplinary boundaries. The program has a community-based focus with an emphasis on collaborative relationships across the public, private and nonprofit sectors of the community.
