Stephen Holmes, Ph.D.
Dr. Holmes has co-authored over ten books and more than 20 articles dealing with policing, drug testing, probation & parole issues, sex offenders, suicide and violent crime. He currently teaches graduate statistics and applied research methods courses as well as undergraduate classes on sex offenders, policing and the history of the criminal justice system.
Karol Lucken, Ph.D.
Past and current research interests include intermediate punishment,
victim services, penal reform trends, philosophy of punishment,
faith-based prison initiatives, sex offender civil commitment, and

Eugene Paoline, Ph.D.
Dr. Paoline's research interests include police culture, police use of coercion, occupational attitudes of criminal justice practitioners, and theoretical development in criminal justice. He is the author of Rethinking Police Culture (2001, LFB Scholarly Publishing), and is currently working on a National Institute of Justice grant geared toward examining the variation in American less-than-lethal use of force policies and the various outcomes associated with the different policies.
