Orlando, Sept. 25, 2006 — Leaders from UCF, the College of Health and Public Affairs and Seminole Community College met on Sept. 22, 2006, in HPA I to discuss collaborations between the two institutions involving academic health programs.
Among the topics discussed were:
• SCC student interest in COHPA's allied health programs
• Articulation agreements and SCC student transition to UCF
• SCC campuses and opportunities for COHPA's programs
• Other potential concurrent programs
• The Master of Science in Nursing program as a feeder for SCC faculty
• The acquisition of equipment for health programs
"Collaborating with Seminole Community College provides an opportunity for programs in the College of Health and Public Affairs to look at strategic planning and initiatives as well as to address current and future health manpower needs of the community." said Joyce Dorner, interim dean of the College of Health and Public Affairs.
