Professor Karen Dow (right) of the School of Nursing was selected to receive a Pegasus Professor Award for 2006. The award recognizes
sustained excellence in teaching, research and service and is the most prestigious honor given to a faculty member at the University of Central Florida.
Dow received the award from UCF President John Hitt (left) at the Founders' Day Convocation, held April 5, 2006, in the Pegasus Ballroom. She is the ninth faculty member to receive the award, which was first given out in 2000. The tenth recipient,
Mubarak Shah of the College of Engineering and Computer Science, was also recognized at the April 2006 event.
Each winner receives a check for $5,000; a statue of Pegasus, the UCF symbol; and a gold medallion engraved with a Pegasus logo and his or her name.
