Joining them were other alumni of the program, current students, UCF administrators, and faculty and staff members from the college. The event was held in the atrium of Health and Public Affairs building I.

The guests viewed posters about research projects conducted by alumni and students; enjoyed hor d'oeuvres and live music; and listened to presentations about the program by UCF Provost Terry Hickey, Vice Provost and Graduate Studies Dean Patricia Bishop, college Interim Dean Joyce Dorner and Director Wan.

The event concluded with a formal recognition of Wan's "inspirational leadership" and an announcement of the program's new outstanding dissertation award, which Wan presented to Olga Semukhina ('07).
