ORLANDO, June 17, 2008 — Associate Professor Naim Kapucu has secured more than $1 million in external funding since he joined the faculty of the Department of Public Administration in 2003. He received his first grant in November of that year.
Kapucu has since surpassed the million-dollar mark by receiving grants and contracts for several programs in his department. These include 13 awards in support of the Capacity Building Institute, four grants for homeland security and disaster relief, and three grants to work with government officials from Turkey.
Through his funded projects, Kapucu has sponsored more than 30 graduate research assistants and provided thousands of dollars in tuition support, according to the COHPA Office of Research.
"Congratulations Dr. Kapucu. Well done," said Mary Ann Feldheim, chair of public administration. "We are so proud of you."
