About this Photo

The Program in Radiologic Sciences includes a yearlong course in radiologic procedures with both classroom and laboratory instruction. On Feb. 10, 2006, first-year students in the program (above) took an exam in the radiology laboratory in Health and Public Affairs building II.

For the past 10 years, 100 percent of the programs graduates have passed the national certification exam on the first try. Their scores also have exceeded the national average. Last year's graduates had an average exam score of 92, while the national average was 84.

The students are very motivated, said Instructor Susan Gosnell, who graduated from the program in 1982. They work hard to get in the program and stay in the program.

Gosnell has watched the program, which admits just 16 new students each fall, become increasingly competitive over the years.

People are realizing that [radiologic sciences] is a really great career path, Gosnell added.
