UCF Produces Local Television Program
on Health

Television viewers in Central Florida can learn the latest about health issues and health care in the region by tuning into UCF TV's "For Your Health" show.

“For Your Health” draws on the expertise of UCF’s faculty, alumni, students and community partners to provide viewers with health information they can use in their daily lives.

The show features profiles on research activities, interviews with faculty experts in a studio setting and interviews of alumni working in local health-care facilities. The show also includes updates on the university’s College of Health and Public Affairs, College of Medicine, College of Nursing and Burnett College of Biomedical Sciences.

“’For Your Health’ raises the awareness of Orlando area viewers to a variety of health issues that may impact them and their families,” said Jane Lieberman, chair of the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders. “It also highlights the leading role that UCF is taking in providing health-related services and educational programs for the community."

The show is hosted by two veteran medical reporters, Ed Heiland and Charna Davis Weise.

"For Your Health" was launched in 2007 with a grant from the College of Health and Public Affairs, which includes health-related programs in communication sciences and disorders and health professions.

UCF TV produces several other half-hour shows that include profiles of faculty, student and university leaders; faculty members interviewing each other about their research; and national and international leaders who visit the university. The channel also features speeches and panel discussions on campus and concerts by UCF musicians.
