Orlando, October 18, 2007 — Faculty and staff enjoyed a wide variety of foods during this year's Diversity Luncheon thanks to the cooking skills of colleagues who hail from around the world.
Members of the College of Health and Public Affairs, College of Nursing, College of Medicine and Burnett School of Biomedical Sciences were invited to contribute a dish from their native country or region to the annual event. Their contributions made an enticing display on an enormous buffet table set up in the HPA I atrium.
This year's feast included Vietnamese summer rolls, the Louisiana Creole dish jambalaya and the Greek dessert baklava, to name just a few of the many delicious contributions.
Faculty and staff members clearly enjoyed a chance to share part of their heritage and to reconnect with friends from different departments and colleges.
At the end, a few nearby students were invited to help themselves, said staff member Pat Means, who co-coordinated the event.
"We fed some hungry students too."
